Alhamdulillah! This year’s first half marathon (21.1 km) was more than just a race — it was a journey of endurance, patience, and gratitude. Despite the rain and a tough cramp in my left leg, I crossed the finish line with a time of 2 hours 10 minutes and an average pace of 6:10 min/km. Though my target was 5:30 min/km, finishing the race itself felt like a victory.
The day started with anticipation and energy as runners gathered at Dongdaemun, each with their own story and motivation. As the race began, the rhythm of footsteps echoed through the streets of Seoul, creating a collective spirit of determination.
Midway through, the rain started — light at first, then steady. My legs felt heavier, and at one point, I questioned whether I could keep going. But giving up was never an option. Every step reminded me why I run: not to win against others, but to challenge myself, to stay strong, and to keep faith even when it hurts.
As I crossed the finish line, drenched and exhausted, a wave of emotion hit me — relief, gratitude, and pride. Running teaches you something profound: that every finish line isn’t an end, but the start of something new.

This half marathon was a humbling reminder that discipline, faith, and persistence always lead to something greater than speed — they lead to growth. I’m thankful for every stride, every drop of rain, and every moment that made this journey unforgettable.
Every finish line is a new beginning.
