An Engineering Marvel: From the moment I set foot on the Gloucester Heroes Bridge, I was struck by its sheer size and the breathtaking views it offers. The bridge's impressive span and height provide an exhilarating experience as you walk across, with the serene lake below and lush greenery all around. The accessibility of the bridge is a bonus, allowing visitors to enjoy this marvel without the need for a strenuous hike.

Immersed in Stunning Scenery: The natural beauty surrounding the Gloucester Heroes Bridge is truly stunning. As I walked along the wooden broad walk that runs alongside the bridge, I was able to take in the panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding landscape. The combination of the peaceful water, the vibrant greenery, and the well-designed walkway made for a perfect setting to relax and appreciate nature. The area is ideal for photography, offering numerous spots to capture the beauty of the scenery.

A Tribute to Brave Soldiers: One of the most poignant aspects of the Gloucester Heroes Bridge is its dedication to the 1st Battalion Gloucester Regiment of the British Army. This regiment fought valiantly during the Korean War, facing fierce battles against Chinese troops. The bridge stands as a tribute to their bravery and the ultimate sacrifice many of them made. Walking across the bridge, I felt a deep sense of respect and gratitude for these soldiers who fought in a land far from home.

Exploring Gamaksan: After crossing the bridge, I decided to explore the nearby Gamaksan mountain. Standing 675 meters above sea level, Gamaksan is one of the nearest mountains to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). The hike up the mountain was both challenging and rewarding, offering spectacular views of the surrounding area. The sense of peace and tranquility at the summit was a perfect complement to the historical reflection I experienced on the bridge.
